Mr Joe Marais FRCS(ORL) is a Consultant Rhinologist, Nasal Plastic & ENT Surgeon who has NHS appointments at Northwick Park Hospital, Hillingdon Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital where he has been practicing since 2000. His NHS Departmental base is located at Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow. He also engages in private practice at hospitals in the Northwest London area.

Mr Marais trained as a junior doctor in London at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital and as a Registrar and then Senior Registrar in Edinburgh.  He obtained his Intercollegiate Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in 1996. He undertook Sub-specialist Fellowship training in both Texas, USA and Toronto, Canada and has particular interests in nasal and sinus conditions, snoring and allergy, rhinoplasty as well as general and paediatric ENT conditions, such as tonsil, adenoid, nasal blockage and ear problems. As a Rhinologist and Nasal Plastic Surgeon, Mr. Marais receives many tertiary referrals of difficult and challenging cases from other ENT Surgeons in the area. He is a registered member of ENT-UK and BAPRAS (British Assn of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons)

Mr. Marais teaches postgraduate trainees at the Royal College of Surgeons and internationally at medical conferences and has published widely in several areas of ENT surgery. Mr. Marais has recently featured on the well- known BBC One Show demonstrating sinus surgery in a patient.
